Apart from being a noted writer who writes novels, short stories, screenplays and travelogues, he was also a freedom fighter, social crusader, Indian independence activist, music critic and connoisseur of the arts writer. Krishnamurthy was a noted Tamil writer with the pen name, Kalki.
